The Gold Wing Road
Riders Association (GWRRA) kicked off a Wing Ding like none before on July
4, 2004. This year the event was 5 days long ending on July 8, 2004. The
annual event was held at the newest of the Gaylord Opryland resorts,
"Gaylord Texan".
The front entrance of the Gaylord Texan. If you look closely, you can see the bikes lined up the drive two or 3 columns wide.
This is a trestle bridge built over the river running through the Texan.
One of several "Bell Towers".. this one was home to a digital Marquee pictured with the Wing Ding XXVI logo.
Photo of the Gaylord Texan River located inside a huge glass dome area. This was also home to a lot of plant life including very large trees (below). There were at least two bell towers and what looked almost like an Alamo type replica. There were bridges and pathways and patio areas with water fountains. It was a beautiful place. Below Sandy poses with her grandchildren on one of the many "look outs".
Sandy and Everett enjoy one of the "indoor" patios inside the dome. |
